lyrics
When the moon dissolves into the sky like the shine in your dilated eye, miles from me sobriety stands with a hammer in his hand. And we roll down the street like a pair of coins that fell from the place where your jeans are torn and you smile at me with your wine stained teeth
And say let's take the train
To a quiet place I know where we can be alone
Where the shore meets the sea meets the sun
And although we should be tired the day has just begun
Well the train doors close and we collapse as my head sinks down onto your lap and we're talking about nothing just to keep from falling asleep, and the ringing in my mind is amplified by the music of the night and that stuff we tried but retreating is the feeling like the tide that's no longer high
Just three stops to go until we're out on the road
Where the shore meets the sea meets the sun
And although we're winding down it's clear the day is young
So we stare at the sun and talk about how long it will be until it burns out, when it's fire retires will we be around to see? For all we know it could be that day and if it is I hope it's final ray kisses your eyelids before we are shown to the door
Lay your head down in my hand among the diamond in the sand. Where the shore meets the sea meets the sun
And as we drift into dream the day carries on

This is becoming one of my all-time favorite live albums. Outstanding setlist of some of her best songs, the band on point, and just a beautiful performance. jae

The sweetness of the harmony and beauty of the tracks made me have to purchase this album. The vocals float like ethereal sprites with compelling warmness yet a certain captivating sadness as well. This is what Americana should sound like... this is what country should sound like... for it's so real and emotionally delivered... yet absolutely gorgeous. theexplodingogre
